Publications

Several of the actions in the Navigating a Changing Climate Action Plan will result in the publication of bespoke technical guidance on climate change mitigation and adaptation for waterborne transport infrastructure.

PIANC Working Groups, for example, are currently preparing good practice guidance on carbon management, on climate change adaptation, and on resilience. The ESPO Green Guide has a chapter dedicated to energy consumption and climate change mitigation and new sections dealing with adaptation are planned. IAPH is working with the International Maritime Organization to provide guidance to ports on undertaking a port emissions status assessment.

In the meantime, however, a range of other publications exists on climate-related topics relevant to port and inland waterway infrastructure and operations. Some of these publications are listed below.

Publications prepared by third parties have not been endorsed by the Think Climate coalition; rather they are provided in the spirit of sharing potentially useful information.
